A weed wiper is designed to target and eradicate reeds, rushes, docks and other unwanted weeds, in grassland, paddocks and farmland. The weed wiper is widely used in arable land as well to control volunteer crops such as weed beet. The weed wipers will work regardless of wind speeds and because there is no spray drift, there is no risk of damage to other plants or underlying grass. The use of less chemicals makes the weed wiper economical as well as effective.
To prevent ragwort infestation in pastures you can treat the affected areas and kill the weeds with our ATV wiper with efficacy, (these weeds must be removed or allowed to completely degenerate before re-grazing or conserving). The weed wiper should be used when weeds are at or near their stage of growth for optimum results. Perennial broad-leaved weeds should be at or near flowering stage and perennial grass weeds should have at least 10 cm of new leaf growth for safe application.
The Chapman weed wiper is the perfect solution for weed control as an alternative to using sprayers where drifting could affect wildlife habitats and species-rich protected areas. This lightweight machine is designed to be towed behind an ATV farm quad, utility vehicle or similar, if equipped with a ball hitch.
The electric drive motor operates at 25 rpm, with a wiper roller made of strong tubular steel and a high quality, wear resistant carpet attached to it. The weight of the liquid is perfectly balanced, allowing for an even and trouble-free application of herbicide to the weeds whilst preventing it from being flicked onto surrounding grass.
The weed wiper roller is fully operator adjustable and controlled by a unique IP67 sealed control box, with the pump being automatically pulsed on and off, maintaining correct and constant saturation.
Weed wiper controls
The weed wiper should be used when weeds are at the height of their growing cycle, for maximum efficiency. The height and offset adjustment of the machine ensures full coverage and weed control on grassland and other areas to be treated.
A simple rotary adjustment on the electronic control module of the weed wiper, powered from the ATV, ensures the right application rate of herbicides to treat most weeds.
The Chapman weed wiper has narrow semi-flotation tyres with low ground pressure, minimising the chance of herbicides being transferred to the actual wheels and damaging the underlying grass.
With an integrated tank and a fitted hand lance as standard the wiper is suitable for spot spraying on hard to get at areas.
