Haygain Forager
Haygain Forager/Slow Hay Feeder
The Haygain Forager or Slow Feeder has mental and physical benefits for horses, helping them with digestion and preventing metabolic upsets, obesity, colic, and other equine ailments.
Horses have a digestive system that allows them to spend much of their day grazing, and the forager enables them to do so by regulating their feed, encouraging them to eat slowly and regularly throughout the day. Eating in a lowered-head position allows drainage of respirable particles and natural feeding posture in the jaw, neck, and back. Extending mealtimes is especially beneficial for horses that require restricted diets. Intermittent feeding can trigger fat-storing responses that could lead to obesity. The Haygain foragers have two interchangeable regulator grids to suit your horse’s needs and preferences. Secured to a metal ring on the outside of the cylinder, the grid stays level as it lowers with forage consumption. The base of the Slow Hay Feeder unit can be filled with sand for extra stability or secured to the stable walls. The top ring has four rubber fixings for structural strength. The foragers are designed for durability and safety and are fully collapsible for easy cleaning and transport. The cylinder panels will break apart under extreme pressure to prevent accidents. Using this feeding method keeps the floor of the stable clean avoiding contamination, wastage, and mess. |
In short, some great benefits of the Haygain Forager include:
1. Promotes a healthy digestive system. 2. Improves physical and mental well-being. 3. Reduces forage wastage and avoids mess and contamination. 4. Prevents obesity. Specifications:
