Hay Tedder
Hay Tedder
A tedder is used after cutting the grass, spreading and turning over loose hay in the field, before windrowing. Tedders use a rotary motion to grab the hay with spinning tines and cast it out the back of the machine. Tedding is generally done soon after mowing or after heavy rainfall. Our tedder forks the cut grass to aerate and speed up the process of hay-making, this allows the hay to dry better, which results in improved aroma and color. Using a hay tedder helps the crop to dry out before being raked and baled. This procedure not only aerates the swath of hay but also allows the sunlight to dry the hay on the field, making it more palatable for livestock feed. When fitted with a windrowing attachment this tedder rake creates rows of hay suitable for M50 and conventional baler.
