How to use our chainsaw mill
To take the first cut, you run the mill down a flat board or ladder which is fixed to the log. This gives you a flat surface which you can then run the mill down to take further cuts. You can easily take a cut at 90 degrees to your first cut and make dimensional timber like 4x2, 6x2, etc..
Many people assume that you need a massive chainsaw to mill boards. Whilst this is the case if you are planning to use a 36" bar and cut massive wide planks. You can use a small saw with a 15" bar if your logs or small, or you want to split beams or sleepers small enough to use in your workshop. You lose approx 6" of cut length in the clamping system, so bear this in mind when selecting your bar and mill.
